Full-Time Optician Needed - Tornbury, ON

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optician or Optometric Assistant to join our team! In this role, you will support Optometrists in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our practice. You will be responsible for assisting with various tasks related to patient management, optical sales, and laboratory duties, all while maintaining a welcoming environment for our patients.

Duties

• Greet patients and assist them with check-in and check-out processes.

• Manage optical inventory, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels.

• Provide guidance to patients on eyewear options, including frames and lenses, while utilizing retail sales techniques to enhance customer experience.

• Utilize Optosys software for patient scheduling and record management.

• Maintain knowledge of optometric terminology to effectively communicate with patients and staff.

• Optical Gallery tasks such as frame adjustments and repairs.

• Support retail management functions by helping with merchandising and promotional displays.

• Help conduct preliminary patient assessments

• Assist optometrists during examinations by preparing equipment and ensuring a clean and organized workspace.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an optometric or healthcare setting is preferred but not required.

• Familiarity with Optosys software is a plus but not required.

• Strong sales skills with experience in retail sales or optical sales preferred.

• Knowledge of medical terminology related to eye care is advantageous.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while providing excellent customer service.

• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

• Willingness to learn about optical products and services, as well as laboratory processes.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Job Information

• Full-time

• Pay: Range $18.50-$30.00 per hour depending on qualifications/experience

• Schedule: Monday to Friday
