November 1, 2013- Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) recently revised the Benefit Grid for Program of Choice (POC) 14 – Vision (Eye) Care. Beginning May 24, 2013 the following benefit grid changes for low vision benefits will be in effect. The revisions include new benefit codes, as well as prescriber, frequency and dollar limit changes. View Announcement

Citizenship and Immigration Canada has revised the Interim Federal Health Program, with changes to be effective June 30, 2012. At that date, vision care will no longer be an eligible benefit under the IFH program. Opticians have 6 months from date of service to submit their outstanding claims for payment to Medavie Blue Cross.
